Dr Sulejman Mani Çelaj born in Gjakove Kosove.
Attended and finished medical school at University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Craiova Romania.
After moving in USA as a refugee and obtaining USMLE I started training at Montefiore Medical Center University hospital for Alber Einstein School of Medicine in Internal Medicine foe follow with General Cardiology fellowship and Interventional Cardiology fellowship.
After finishing my Training foe 8 years I was hired by Montefiore Medical Center as Director of Cardiac Catheterization and interventional program and St. Barnabas hospital and a full time faculty staff at Montefiore Medical Center. I was appointed Assistant Professor of Medicine.
In 2014 became Chief of Cardiology at SBH Health System Hospital until now.
Also was appointed as Associate Professor of Medicine at CUNY Sophie Davis School of Medicine.
Received 3 times Teachers Award at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein School of Medicine.
Co-founder and second President of Albanian American Medical Society
Attended and led multiple medical conferences in Albania and USA as a staff faculty member.
Featured in NYC Time Square for his contribution with Covid patients and his contribution in Albania and Kosovo during global pandemics.
Organized with his daughter Adea a found raising efforts in 2019 after devastating earthquake in Albania and raised founds to help rebuild 2 homes in Albania.
Activist in Albanian American lobbying groups since he migrated in USA.
In 2020 was honored by President of Albania with the highest civilian medal “Order of Knight of Skanderbeg” for his contribution in Education of young Albanians and his humanitarian work with Albanian American community.
